I was a victim of Internet s dating by Nigerians. What is the best website to do Background Investigations.?

I was a victim of Internet Dating scammers from Nigeria. The Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, DC has not been helful at all. I would like to do a background check on the ladies that scammed me. There are many background check websites, but I need to know web link of the most useful one.

I was a victim of Internet s dating by Nigerians. What is the best website to do Background Investigations.?
If it looks like it is too good to be true.it is.
Reply:Ummmm, it's impossible to do a background check of members of an Internet dating website.

True.com says it does background checks but I've seen married members on their website. In addition, True.com uses bait and switch tactics to lure members into paying for a membership. By the words of former members of true.com... true.com is among the worst of the worst.

eharmony.com has a good track record with keeping out scammers and fake profiles, but this is because of the hoops you have to jump through and the high membership fees of eHarmony.com.

The best thing to do is to learn tactics to keep yourself safe on the net. First and formost would be not to send money to someone you've never met in person, and don't do favors for anyone that you don't know personally. In fact, there are probably scammers living in your city, who are using these internet dating sites to find their next victim.

When I've met women on the net, I look for things in their profile that would indicate they really are a local resident... Such as the background in their pictures, mentions of local hotspots, and other details that may give hints. When I chat with them I ask them a couple of local geographical questions. After a couple of emails, usually anyone serious gives me their phone number or their IM screenname, but I always talk with them on the phone before meeting them. If I get a strange phone number (and I've recieved a couple foreign and out of state phone #s), I just delete the contact and move-on to someone else( Don't buy into any excuses, such as I'm on business). If the person isn't a local or not in my local area, I just assume that it's Boris the hairy scammer or another scammer.

Also, before I see someone I must see a few pictures of them before I meet them.

Finally, I get their full name then I do a google and an address check on them, to see if they're married or if they really exsist. I know some people who will pay $10 to do a simple background check, and I know one lady who pays $60 to do a criminal background check on guys before she meets them.

Then if I do meet a woman I choose a neutral location such as a coffee shop. Then I evaluate them for any sort of mental dysfunctions by keeping them talking about themselves. However, she may become threatend if I don't tell her what she wants to know about me, so a guy can't be too shady. Finally, I don't try to get them into bed , because I don't know where they've been...wink, wink, and I don't know how they'll react to man they have slept with.

Learn control of your feelings or libido to keep yourself safe. Just yesterday, I met a girl on another dating site that's probably an 9 out of 10... Very hot.. Platinum blonde, slender figure, cute face... the type that can get men to do whatever she wants them to do. She gave me her first name and her physical address on an IM system, and she asked if I'd spend the day with her. Instead, I ran a reverse address check on whitepages.com and I can up with nothing. With no phone# and no last name from her I wasn't about to take a chance, no matter how alluring her pictures and profile information happens to be... Better safe than sorry!

-The Nigerian scammer use a very complex system to scam people out of money. First they'll create a fake profile that targets a specific member. Then once contact is made they'll hire someone to talk to you on the phone. This person is rather skilled at making an emotional connection with the victim. Then comes the extortion... You may get an outside email from somone posing as a doctor, gov offical, or whatever that tells you the person's life was in danger and since you were in their address book thay thought you were the closest of kin. Then they ask for money to buy them an airline ticket, pay for their surgery, or to help pay for freight, or some other scheme.

There are millions of scammers on the net, and they use some very clever tactics to drain your bank account. In fact, my exwife just got bilked out of $3500 in a phoney home shopper scheme. Now, the bank wants her to pay up or else they'll ruin her credit.

Last, the person who scammed you probably used a fake name; and If you gave them the money they have no legal right to give it back to you. That's the beauty of many of these schemes... They legally bilk people out of money.

Try this...

What do you think about Internet dating and the consequences?

What is your opinion about people internet dating? Is it good or the wrong thing to do??

What do you think about Internet dating and the consequences?
It has pros and cons. I don't believe in falling in love over the internet, rather I think it's another way to meet people. Instead of hitting the bars and clubs, you can meet someone on here and meet them in real life. I don't believe in falling in love with words. I think that those who "fall in love" with someone without having met them are a bit dilusional. People hide behind words and often, they will not be themselves. That's my opinion anyway :-)
Reply:i think that it could be alot easier breaking things off,but its no fun when u cant see them right next to u,that y i dont do long distance or interneting dating,i would rather have a girl that i know is real, and not some 34 year old fat guy over the internet....
Reply:I think its cool, because most people can't always just go into a bar and hook up with someone. So I think its pretty nice to talk for a while get to know each other. But my rule is talk for alot longer than a month and really get to know them ask for updated photos and all. And when you meet do it in a public place. But other wise than that happy dating.
Reply:wrong but freinds over the internet i think is alright %26lt;hint hint%26gt; click on my avatar

What do you think of Internet Dating? Any preferred sites?

I met my hubby thru internet dating. I met a lotta bums, but finally found a gem of a man...

Have you any stories to share?

Any particular sites that seemed good / bad?

Well, I tried eHarmony off and on for 2+ years. Met and dated numerous men. All of those men matched their pictures and the details of their lives as they told them to me.

Learned a lot about myself and what I did/didn't want. It takes fortitude to do internet dating. Difficult to met someone "backwards".....get to know them personally and then meet them. It's tough when you meet them and the attraction/chemistry isn't there.

Good news is that I stumbled upon a gem. Last guy from eHarmony has been a keeper. I sincerely believe he will be my husband. I'm 36, never married and feel I can say that without sounding silly.

It has been a wonderful experience with him. If we do end up together for life, we only have Neal Clark Warren to thank for it!

Believe me, never thought I would be saying that! :)

There are pros and cons....you must know yourself and trust the site you are on and be careful.

Bottom line, it has been mostly a positive experience.
Reply:overwhelming it's a failure

it's for the social misfits

the lazy

the socially inept

people lie about themselves and use outdated photos

to make them selves appear better than they really are

rapists and perverts however love the services

are there exceptions to the rule

sure

but not enough to quantify the services a success
Reply:I would never date the internet

How to start dating over 40 with children no friends and internet sites just aren't working?

I am wanting to start dating again but I have no social friends and I don't hang out at bars and clubs. I have tried the internet dating and it just doesn't seem to be working. I hate to go out alone and I am at a loss of how to start...I work with men but they are all married or in serious relationships and I don't want to ask them for help. where does a person start? Any ideas would be helpful

Check out events for single parents in your area--they don't even need to be advertised as mixers or dating events--they could be ways to meet other potential friends who have the same situation as you (need social friends and also to meet men to date.)

Depending on where you live and what you're into, these events could be things like wine tasting parties, white water rafting or nature hikes, guided tours/walks, art gallery openings, game nights, etc. A lot of places have open houses where you can take a free class or a sampling of free classes. At the very least, you might find new interests and new friends.
Reply:Could see if there is a singles group in your area. Try church functions. Also sometimes just enjoying your hobbies you may meet someone.
Reply:pursue your hobbies or things you would like to do

go to a dance class or an art class or a woodwork class or a sporting or community group

you will meet new friends there who think similar to you and who might have other friends - as your network expands you will meet people to date

and you can enjoy developing other friends and hobbies on the way!
Reply:Stop searching. Honestly, the harder you try, the harder it is. Just prove to yourself you enjoy life alone, and a real woman will see that you're content with yourself and your life, and will want to be a part of it all. Become a social "butterfly". Be willing to spend time going out and just meeting people. Don't try to make everything a "relationship". The best basis for a real start is friends. I met my fiancee in yahoo pool 4 years ago, and I never saw it coming. He was a random name on my computer screen, and I just happened to like his screen name "allyours_2000ca". I started the conversation (jokingly) with "all mine huh?" and now...we are getting married in 6 days (it's now been 4 years).

Just be yourself and enjoy it. You'll find you'lll attract the opposite sex alot more that way. *wink*

Whatt do you think about internet dating sites?

Just trying to get opinions here of what people think about internet dating sites like Match, eHarmony, Yahoo Personals, etc. Any success stories? Any nightmare stories? Think they are a good idea?

Whatt do you think about internet dating sites?
I met my fiance on yahoo personals. I'd consider that a success story. I met several other people there and went out with a few guys a couple i saw more than once a few i just saw once things just weren't right with them for various reasons. But then i met my fiance and we've been together for two years now and are getting married in a couple months. We've even bought a house together.
Reply:Hi Sweetie.. I have had experience through eHarmony and Yahoo personals...Okay experience from the both, but I guess te best experience was from Myspace...great way to meet friends who know friends!! Hope this help...and on top of that, it is free!
Reply:I met a great friend online. But Im married so relationship wise, I dont know!

I had friends that met online and married two years later. They seem happy enough?!
Reply:i've been tempted to meet people that i've talked to on yahoo personals but i'm afraid that they'll be some crazed weirdo that'll kill me. but if you do meet someone you meet online just be extra careful. meet them in a busy public place, like a busy restaurant.
Reply:be carefull
Reply:Be careful some have been known to fraud their me members in order to obtain money. Also you really don't know who is on the dating site, Thier just pictures and words on a page online. Match.com does background checks on all thier members so just be cautious on which one you choose

Reply:My opinion Cheating this culture not suitable for Indian culture

Dating site are making money minting
Reply:nothing wrong. but trust only after personally meeting
Reply:my boyfriend should date me..not some chick he met online...

in my eyes its the same as cheating
Reply:Would not accept it. Dating someone else, even if on the internet, takes from your present relationship. To me it is no different than cheating.

Best of luck.
Reply:Wait, I'm not sure what you mean when you say if I would accept it if my boyfriend were dating on the internet (shouldn't he be dating me?!).

But I think that Internet dating can work out on occasion, but it usually doesn't work for various reasons. I know a few of my friends who have tried to have serious relationships over the internet. It took one of my friends TOO MUCH TIME to realize that she was running after a jackass, but she did eventually realize it (and now she's running after a different jackass, but that's another story...), and one of my other friends has been with her boyfriend for about a year and they have held their relationship together through the internet and the phone. Admittedly, it's starting to fall apart a little bit, but things like that can work. One of my friends is getting married to someone she met over the internet! (match.com)

It can work, but it usually doesn't because most people feel like they need to physically be with that person...it all depends on the person. Also, it may not work because sometimes you cannot trust the people on the internet...some people lie and pretend to be some one when they really are not (aka online predators), so you have to be careful...
Reply:I would not accept if my boyfriend (or husband in my case) was dating anyone else...internet or otherwise. This includes cybering.
Reply:*** FACE! NO! It is not something I would ever want my BF to do, you will never find a wife like that that will cook and be ther for you and Love You! You would find a SLUT/Whore. Do you want that?????
Reply:If a guy wants to call a girl his girlfriend that's what he should stick with.. if he's dating on the internet he's still looking for something else that apparently his real girl doesn't have or do.. and when he finds it thats when his internet relationship goes to the next level. So no it shouldn't be acceptable.
Reply:NOT THE BEST!!!
Reply:foolish!
Reply:NOTHING wrong in it.But the portal/agency should do some screening before one is allowed to do dating in INTERNET.
Reply:As long as the Internet dating period he is going through doesn't affect our real life, outside here, where the real world is, not a problem.
Reply:ya.... sounds interesting.....!!!

What does everyone have against internet dating????///?

why does everyone have something against internet dating ? i mean i've heard all these people say it sucks i hear all these other people saying it doesn't, why does it cause such issues between people and friends?????????????

What does everyone have against internet dating????///?
I don't know, i know my family does they think it's stupid! I don't, because i have a secret...i really really really like my best friend over the internet!! I've known him over the internet for almost 6 months, he's sooo awesome!! I really want to go with him, but i have a boyfriend in real life!! But i know that some stuff will go wrong if i do...cause like you said lots of people have problems with internet dating..i know it can be dangerous, but i still don't think it's such a bad thing! Don't you agree???
Reply:yeah just gosh at some people!!! Report It

Reply:Very easy qustion...

Well most o fthe time the guys wanna rhape you or abuse and alsult you most of the time. if you meet them which wont be smart they might end up hurting you or even killing you ect. (they are really messed up). thats why if it wasnt safe why would they always tell you not too?BTW for all you know it might be the oppiste sex
Reply:I believe it has to do with, that, anyone can say whatever and most of them are not telling the truth. It is hard to know what's what , unless you are looking at them , EYE to EYE.

The Soul is in the Eyes, they speak. Body Language is very powerfull, for the most , if you pay attention, it will say more than the mouth.

The ones that think Internet dating is good, just got LUCKY, the % of getting lucky is very low.
Reply:I think it's more risky. When you date someone that you've actually met and /or know....it's safer. You never actually know what you're getting on the internet, until you meet them, and then it's too late. They already know things about you that you wouldn't have shared with them, had you met them first.
Reply:everybody has there own ideal..im 50/50 on it
Reply:It's stupid but if u wanna get killed go for it. since u have no idea who the person really is and how he/she is in real life. For all u kno u can be talking to an old guy or a women! and another reason its dumb is that ur damaging ur brain cells talking to the person online! how boring. u can't even go out for a damn icecream!

IT'S THE MOST DUMBEST THING EVER AND FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE AFRAID TO TALK TO PEOPLE IN PERSON! OH NO SOMEONE WILL EAT U!!!!!! IS IT BARNEY THE PURPLE DINOSOAR? OH YEAH IT IS!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...

P.S online dating is retarded
Reply:I have nothing against it. people who do I think need to atleast try it.
Reply:The fear of Internet dating safety is really misguided, but there are dangers. The one story in 10 million where someone gets raped is really not a fault of the Internet as there will always be freaks out there. Be sensible and meet in a public place first. The real danger is HIV and STDs, because Internet daters can have many partners at once pretty easily. It's basically impossible to tell who is infected and even the premium sites don't address the issue. There is one service called checktonight.com that makes sure people have been tested. It makes sense because even "nice" people have STDs and most don't even know they have something.
Reply:If I'm dating I want my date to pick me up or me pick him up. I want to do things with him other than typing keys together. I want to know for sure that he is real and not some prankster and I want to be able to LOOK into his eyes and count the lies and not be fooled by cyberspace.
Reply:becasue most people think its not safe, which it isnt sometimes.
Reply:because they are hiding behind this screen... you have no idea who they really are.. only what they tell you..they lie about age, sex and their looks, being married or already in a relationship...most men are only after sex, why risk your life? do u ever watch the news..men lure girls to their hometown also some men go on their dates with duct tape rope beer condoms... NOT QUALITY people.. if ur looking for a long term relationship.. meet someone in your hometown, know his family and friends.... most men lie on the internet.. please be careful...
