Internet dating?

I have been chatting to a guy for the past 3months.My question is how can u tell if he is 100% honest with me I enjoyed our chats each nite and the past few days it seems like he gone cold or somthing i hope that someone can help me out with some answers on this one thanku for taking the time to read this by the way we are both gay

honestly now a days its really hard to trust internet relationships. so i dont know. he could be feeding you answers that you want to hear.

I dated someone for well over a year...it actually took me about 3 months to trust her and believe that everything was on the up %26amp; up...but we talked every day by phone, e-mail %26amp; IM, as well as daily cam sessions (aka. I could SEE her responses to me were genuine in appearance) and I really thought we were in love. Eventually the distance caused problems between us and we ended our "relationship".





Two years went by before I made contact with her again. We decided to be platonic friends, and in the process of talking out our past she confessed that at the time I thought we were exclusive she was actually saying the same exact things to FOUR other girls!





I am in NO WAY saying that you won't find love on the internet and everyone out there is shady...I'm just saying be careful.

Reply:Have you both seen pictures of each other? I know that's probably a silly question but that's the best place to start. It's usually pretty obvious to tell if a person's lying, if you've been using the internet for quite a while. I'm in long-distance relationship through "internet dating" right now, and me and my girlfriend met for the first time in early November. It was really great being with each other, and I'm trying to get to college by her so we can actually be together. Do you live in the same country? If you aren't TOO far apart, maybe try meeting some day? Me and my girlfriend are 10 hours apart but we're trying to schedule times to see each other until I can go to school there. Reply:The thing about internet dating is that the "face to face" factor is missing, so even when you think you're "clicking" with someone, there's always room for someone to be only putting on their best side. I've done a bit of internet dating, and it's fun, but I have to say that every time I met the person face to face, they were different than I expected - not bad, just different. Some went cold on me too, and that could be because of so many factors - they have something very personal going on in their lives that they don't want to share online....so many things...and it's probably not you!





So how can you tell if they are being 100% honest with you? Really, there's no way to tell 100%. Even when you see someone everyday, you never have 100% guarantee of honesty....but you have your gut instinct as well as consistency in personality. The only real way to get to know someone is to meet them and spend time with them. Nothing wrong with internet dating, but to *really know* someone you have to get to know them in person.

Reply:Oh dear...I'm sorry that is happening. You can't tell if someone is being 100% honest with you via the Internet...it's difficult. I don't know why he went cold, I would guess whatever you two were talking about prior to his turning cold....maybe u can get past it...i wish u luck....i just met someone myself this month online, and i know the feeling, we all want to meet someone special sweetie, there's nothing wrong with that. Just don't put all your eggs in one basket until u have all the facts...protecting yourself is a good thing. Good luck...
Reply:There's NO way to know if someone online is honest or not. Even in real life a lot of people are fooled by others, so what do you think it's going to be like when it comes to the interent ? I don't think this stupid internet dating actually works at all. 99.9 % of the people on it are either fake or liars. Good luck.
