How do you feel about internet dating?

I am conducting a study on internet dating. What are your opinions on internet dating? Have you ever tried Internet Dating? If so, was the relationship a sucess and to what do you accredit the success to? If it wasn't a success, to what do you accredit the failure of the relationship to? Is internet dating safe or too risky? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

How do you feel about internet dating?
I have met 3 great guys on the internet. I think it is great, I am a decent person, and I am on all lthe time, who is to say the same can't be true for a good guy? As far as the risk goes, I am a full grown adult, and I don't see how this is more dangerous that meeting someone in a bar. As long as precautions are taken there is no reason why internet dating can't be safe, and fun.

But over all , i think it depends on you , an how you work. Everybody is different , somethings work for some , where as they dont work for others !
Reply:Well I have an old school approach about metting people, going out wherever and having a good time. Meeting face to face is what I am about. The internet works for some people but for me for some reason I can not get with it. A buddy of mine loves it because that's the only way for him to meet women and it works for him. That's how he met his ex wife but, them being divorced really doesnt have much to do with the internet. It was her being 18 and a hoe.





My cousin met his wife on the internet and now they are married, I wasn't a big fan but what can I say, he's family. I just told him to make sure that's what he wanted to do.





Now with me I have met people from the internet but never hooked up with any of them. They are some cool people just couldnt get with it like that. Mainly the internet is a good place to keep in touch with friends that you currently have or lost contact with. Or, make connections around the world. I guess you can say it works to a point but you really never know who you will meet with the internet. Weirdo's are everywhere and they didnt just start coming out when the internet was invented, they have been around and know they can hide behind a computer screen.

Reply:I Internet date, and I do regular dating. Both seem to have the same success rate. Actually the Internet dating is a bit better because you can narrow in on certain qualities, and weed out others. Plus you know more about the person before you go on the date, that you do with regular dating. When I date someone I meet out, it may take several dates to realize that we aren't a match. With online dating, it make take several email, or just one date because you have already talked over a certain period of time. It is also more time efficient, and when I go out with Friends, I am just going out to have fun, to to try to pick up guys...ect.


Not to mention I have many a funny date story thanks to online dating...lol!
Reply:I am for it. I think it gives people a chance to get to know each other as a person instead of just physically. I met my husband on line. Without the Internet we would have never met, since I am American and he is Australian!

Reply:I've never tried it but it doesn't sound very reliable. Good relationships begin with a strong friendship which can be awkward if you going into it with high expectations.

Reply:ther a pluses and negitives to dating online u just have to be careful. Do some checking out. Really get to know the person. For all u know the he/she could be totaly not the person that they said they were. But with all that said I think that online dating can work just as well as in person plus if u don't like him u don't have to worry about running into him in town. just be careful. Godd Luck
