Internet Dating....what do you think of a woman giving her incorrect age but then telling once she meets you?

A friend of mine met her boyfriend on an online dating site. She is 42 but looks about 32. On her profile she stated that she was 32 and her picture supported this. She met a guy online and they chatted for a couple of months then he wanted to meet her. On their first meeting she told him her age as she wanted to make sure he was ok with it before getting involved with her. He didn't have a problem and they've been together for years. I'm interested in what men think of this? Personally I think it is fair enough as lots of guys dont care about the actual age but the look. If you put over 40, you often get filtered out of many searches. I'm thinking of doing internet dating and am just wondering?

To be honest, i have had no experience with internet dating, but if a girl tells you her incorrect age before you have met, you can't be expected to be honest with her in a relationship, she has already lied! It is just wrong.
Reply:I prefer the smaller dating sites and the niche sites. I recommend trying

Reply:All comes out in the wash ... so to speak.

She says shes 30 .... but isn't.

He says he's good looking .... but is 400 pounds, naked in a chair eating Cheetos while typing to her.

All even in the end !
Reply:Firstly l am careful so do not do Internet dating. Secondly l prefer to be honest with people who l meet or speak to so l am always truthful about my age and figure. How would you or your friend feel lf this young man had told her a lie by saying he was single and then she suddenly found out he had a wife and children. Please be honest with one another in the first place. This is only an instance but just be truthful to one another as trust is the best thing.
Reply:Honestly, I have not done internet dating, but lying about your age cannot always be such a good thing.

It can lead to questions later like: what else is she lying about, what secrets is she keeping, is she cheating one me...?

When you are online, it seems everyone is lying, or even just not saying the complete truth, about SOMETHING. If you choose to do this, just be wary and safe, and be careful what you do...
