I met my bf online.. is that bad?! i mean i talk to him all the time and me and my parents are planning on meeting him this spring. they are kinda reluctant to the subject but they are giving him a chance..sorta.. but im just curious as to wether or not its ok to date someone online?!

The net is just another way of meeting people. As long as you take things carefully it is no more or less dangerous than other ways of doing so such as clubs.





I'll echo what has been said above. It is a great way of getting to know the person inside before you actually meet.
Reply:i dont think its safe cuz for all you know(unless youve seen him on webcam)e could be an old shrivled up man who is a perv and just looking to kid nap u or something bad like that or e could be a murderer or wanting to kidnap you i dont think its safe and if you do meet him make sure your parents are with you the whole time, do a heeuge back ground check too amking sure he hasnt got any bad criminal charge against him you can be be too safe!!i really hope this helps ♥

Reply:I met the love of my life online! I'll tell you what the best part of it is... you fall in love with the person inside first before the outside. Granted, I think my bf is hot as heck, but our relationship is so much stronger because of the strong bond we made while talking online. I met him on an online video game and he came to visit me a month after we started talking! Best decision we've ever made. He moved halfway across the country for us and now we're happy :) Plan on getting married soon and we've been dating for well over a year now.





The internet is the hottest dating tool right now. It's taking the world by storm... soon it won't be "weird." Your parents may think it's weird cuz they're from another generation. My parents thought my bf was gonna be some crazy person with a criminal record and a wife or something. LOL. They were pleasantly surprised when they met him! He's a total sweetheart and has a very good head on his shoulders.





As always, be careful, though! There ARE crazies out there, but I trust that you have good judgment :)

Reply:Well, normally I would say no, but if he's willing to meet your parents at the same time, maybe he's sincere in his motives. I would just be careful, and make sure he meets your parents at the same time he meets you or before he meets you. If he is really a true friend, he will honor your wishes and should be proud of how intelligent you are for arranging such a meeting. I would want my friends to be safe to, so I would be proud of them for going the extra effort to stay safe.

Reply:It's absolutely fine as long as he is not a creep or something. :) If you think that you really know him I don't see why it should be a question. Just ignore the shallow society and be with someone you like. But that's where most people get messed up. Just try to get to know him the best. Give him a chance. I don't think that he is any different you might meet at a bar, school or work etc.
