so in your opinion, what is internet dating? what are some sites you would reccommend?what precautions should be taken when using internet dating services,what about if you decide to meet a person in person? and how do you think internet dating is changing the way people meet?

In my opinion, internet dating for people under 21 (yes, 21 to me) is just plain stupid. These young, unknowing girls are going to get out and get hurt. And SOME men will sit there and take any chance they can get at getting some sexual activity.





Otherwise, there are internet dating sites like eHarmony or Yahoo! Personals where there are still dangers, but a lower chance of it.





I would never meet someone I knew online unless I got to know them extremely well. Precautions? Keep your location and last name personal.





Internet dating is helping a lot with people meeting, but it also brings up a lot of issues.





Really, it's not something I would do.


Others have a choice and it's up to them.

precautions:


never give ur personal info out RIGHT AWAY. chat/email. if you do give out personal info dont start w/ ur address,%26amp; home number...take the other person's number if u call dial *67 to block ur number if ur not ready to give out ur number...


during the "dating period" if u get personal info on the person RIGHT IT DOWN. if u meet up meet in a public place. let someone know hwere u r going/what time,give that person the info u have on ur date. %26amp; of course write it down @ home somewhere. when ur on the date, %26amp; get a chance to see ur dates car..right down the license plate number of the car got a camera phone take a pic. be aware...take good look at ur date JUST IN CASE U MEET A CRAZY PERSON..u can vividly describe the date..WAIT A WHILE before letting this person know where u stay/work etc etc.





Changing the way ppl meet:


yea, it has. u still have the chat lines..u know call a local number %26amp; chat live with different ppl..just like the chat line, the internet dating scene can be nothing but B.S. lies to impress or just make urself sound better. Pictures posted that arent even of the actual person. .like anything new, it can be exciting. just be careful. you can meet a crazy stalker type at ur local video store just like u can online...it's all the same just be careful..hope i helped:) let me know how u do on the report. loved to know..

It's made meeting people easier. It's easier to meet people with similar interests and "weed out" the people who you don't want to know.

Internet dating is changing the way we meet people and the taboos that use to be associated with it are fast disappearing. It allows a person to get an idea of what the other person is like and as well it targets personalities.


Pitfalls are of course liars, cheats and pervs... Can't do much about someone that misrepresents him/herself but keep an open mind about what they say. If it is a guy you are meeting and he won't give you his phone number or wants to meet you in some out of the way place that should be a warning. Always meet somewhere public and have a friend call you at a certain time so you have an out.


I have been always amazed at the girls I have met that come to my place. It always is good but I would hate for a girl to go to a guys place only to get raped or some other bad thing happen. I think you need to still see him a couple of times to be certain.
