Are the people in internet dating sites genuine?

I have tried internet dating and out of the ten men I have tried meeting, none seem genuine. Do people use the sites to get sex?

I don't trust it because its not really safe, no matter how SAFE it claims to be.


Sure it can be easy, and it can save some time and money... but People can still be fake, or turn out fake. And on top of that, there is the reason WHY they do it too...


MOst people who do online dating do it because they know they can find a person who'll tell them everything they 'want to hear'. It's sort of like a 'one night stand' if you compare it to the real world.


And yeah, it is used to get sex (those who are either easy or desperate) - but not only that, people out there can be dangerous and try trapping you into siutations. Others, (eg: Most of the jerks you meet in chatrooms) just have a perverted mind, and want something to 'drool over' or play with.

Reply:Depends on what age group your dating, when I was 16 I used to go to chat rooms and I met lots of friends that way, some of those friends led to dating, I have friends that are early 30s which use it a lot as they are desperate to find the person to settle down with.. also try speed dating, quicker way to go through 10 guys and see which one might be more genuine. good luck!
